Brad Leali Quartet |

|
Brad Leali has been a soloist for the Count Basie Orchestra for a number of years, and has also served as artistic director for Harry Connick, Jr. A true follower of the long musical tradition of the American south, where the pioneers of be-bop, like Charlie Parker and Cannonball Adderley, got their start, Leali is coming to Athens to present his own new work. He recently received a Grammy award nomination for the album Count plays Duke, dedicated to two of the great masters of jazz, Count Basie and Duke Ellington. The Brad Leali quartet features true all star musicians – pianist Claus Raible, bassist Giorgos Antoniou, and renowned drummer Alvester Garnett. "I want everyone to dig my music - not just the musicians. I want to bring soul into the music like, say, Stanley Turrentine, Cannonball Adderley, Lee Morgan, David "Fathead" Newman, Freddie Hubbard and Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis. I want people to feel my music in their soul", says Leali. |
